Vacation Bible School (VBS)

Adventure Camp

June 13-17, 2011

9am-5pm (grades K-6th)

9am-12pm (age 4 & 5)

DAILY SCHEDULE

CLOSING CEREMONY

Friday June 17, 5:15 - 6:30 pm

Parents, family members and friends are invited to join us for about an hour of fun with singing, slide show, and brief sharing. Light dinner will be served after the ceremony.

WHAT TO BRING

Grade K-6th camper will need to bring a bag lunch daily marked with the child’s name. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

WHAT TO WARE

Comfortable Clothing – Children should wear casual and comfortable clothing and shoes since they will be working and playing with many materials and spending time outdoors.

DROP OFF/PICK UP

Drop off time is from 8:30 to 9:00 am. Children must be picked up promptly at CCMC at 5:00 pm.

CCMC does not provide supervision before or after camp. There will be a $1.00 per minute late pickup charge after 5:15 pm.

CAMPERS

At CCMC’s VBS & Adventure Camp, children will have a great week with lively songs, Bible drama, crafts, games and snacks. Fees for K-6th grade (2010-2011) campers are:

• $60 by May 15, 2011
• $75 after May 15, 2011

There is no registration fee required for preschool children age 4 (as of Aug 31, 2011) and 5. Registration for preschoolers is also due by May 15, 2011. Pick up time for this age group is 12:00pm Monday to Friday.

100/400 EXPEDITION

What is 100/400 about? Is it about temperature, or geometry or what? Come and find out yourself! Through five days of fun and station-based Bible exploration, children will learn to follow, worship, and live for God. They will learn important life skills and enjoy interesting Bible dramas, music, crafts and games during CCMC‘s 2011 VBS --- The 100/400 Expedition.

MINI CAMPS

Besides Bible exploration, each K-6th grader will participate in mini camps every afternoon. The camps may include the following:

Chinese Calligraphy 毛笔书法

In Chinese calligraphy class, children will have the opportunity to be exposed to ancient Chinese writing. Children will learn to practice writing Chinese characters by using Chinese brush and ink. In addition, children will study the formation and history of Chinese characters, the eight basic strokes, and the stroke order of Chinese characters.

Chinese Holidays 中国传统节日

介绍中国四大传统节日的来历及习俗，并配上动手的活动，如包饺子（春节），作画（清明），做粽子香囊（端午），音乐欣赏（中秋）。Children will learn about traditional Chinese holidays and their customs through hands-on activities.

Handicrafts - Origami, Cross Stitch and More 手工制作 (叠纸,十字绣, 工艺等)

Children will participate in creating Origami pieces such as flying disks, water lilies, Chinese lanterns, etc. They will also be introduced to basic needle work. Each child will finish a small embroidery piece. Advanced handicraft projects are also part of this class.

Art Exploration 小小艺术家

Children will be introduced to artwork by world-famous artists and create their own master pieces following these models. They will explore Acrylic and other materials to create artwork that make them the artists.

Seaside Café 小小厨师

Learn the art of cooking and become a junior Chef. Children will experiment with different recipes. Kids will enjoy making and sharing their creations.

Sports Training/Board Games 运动, 棋类游戏

Children will undergo training in a variety of sports and board games such as table tennis, Blokus, etc.
